Brief Description:  Third flight

Did once around the pattern this morning (0.3 flight time). Mixture was good - EGT's in good range. CHT was high, indicating maybe the baffles in front of the front cylinders are too high. Will trim those down. First flight with the new oil filter. Still a little leak there, but I saw today on the Jabiruengines group that the leak may really be from the o-ring on the oil filter spacer - the groove is so deep, the o-ring doesn't compress enough. Solution is to shave the spacer down by .010". Since the temps were high, I decided once around the pattern was it. Got to flaps 10, and the handle wouldn't release to go farther on the flaps. Will need to file on the detent a little to get it to release more. Also did a little forwards slip to bring it down on final. Seem to be getting used to the pitch, as the landing was slick. Pulled the forwards engine baffle plates off and brought them home. Also, it needs right rudder, and the turns in the pattern don't stay coordinated because rudder should really stay right a little even in the left turns (needs a trim tab). Made up the trim tab. May be able to install that tomorrow.
