Brief Description:  Antenna change

Changed over to a RA Miller AV-529 antenna thinking this might solve the recieve/transmit problem. Drilled out the prior doubler plate and located the new antenna to cover the old antenna hole. Fortunately the base of the new one was big enough to cover the hole. Got it all installed and added the coax connector to the antenna lead to find the coax wouldn't join up to the plug on the antenna. Turns out the hole in the skin was too small and the coax connector was butting up against the skin. So take the antenna off, check the directions and yes, I had made the hole too small. Made the hole larger with the unibit and put it all back together. Still no good on the radio connections, though. But when it does work I'll have a better antenna. I will look into making a test connector for the radio. I think I did something wrong between the radio and intercom because the intercom works great between the headsets. It's just not getting anything in or out from the radio. Also connected up the pitot and static hoses where they come in from the wing. Did one of them on the wrong side of the rudder pedal cable. Rather than take the hose apart (it stuck together very well), I undid the cotter pin on the rudder cable and took the cable loose to get the hose on the correct side.
