Brief Description:  Nutplates on brakes

Jacked the plane up by raising the tail, putting the heavy-duty sawhorse under the spar location, then lowering the tail back down. The tail won't stay down with the fuselage balanced at this station, so Don held it while I filled a few buckets with water to set on the h-stab. Pulled the wheels off, disconnected the brake lever arm, pulled the brake from the axle. Drilled the wheel pant hole locations for nutplates. Countersunk and riveted the nutplates. Reinstalled the brakes then the wheels. Pretty involved, but I like this better than cut threads in the brake backing plates. Nutplates are self-locking, no loctite, and they can be replaced if/when they wear out.
