The cable from Sonex had broken some time ago, and I wasn't really keen on the swaged-on construction. I had replaced it with string looped double through each end attach point with a piece of rope between the string loops. This was light weight, cheap, and the rope felt pretty good when opening / closing the canopy, but it was also an accident waiting to happen. If the string broke, there goes the canopy onto the wing (again). Byron provided some cable hardware and I borrowed his swage tool to make up a cable.
