Sanded the spacers smooth and scotchbrite-wheeled them. Drilled the pieces together which make each side. Riveted the hinge to the right side. May regret that later, but with the hinge riveted, I can see that the side trim closes to under 90 degrees, allowing it to angle in to the contour of the windshield and turtledeck there. The left side trim sits exactly square to the fuselage side, so I clamped it to the edge of the table and hammered about 10 degrees bend into it. It should pull in ok when riveted to the hoops on each end.

Left side spring-clamped in place because the latch isn't drilled/bolted yet.
