Removed the glareshield and upper firewall. Drilled the glareshield angles to final hole size, and picked up the holes that I didn't drill with it installed (the upper firewall windshield strap overhangs a few of the holes). Deburred it all and riveted the forward and aft angles to the glare shield. Peeled off the protective plastic, cleaned the few places I got fingerprints with alcohol, and sprayed the glareshield assembly with self-etching primer. I thought I had flat black paint, but not yet. Also masked off that portion of the upper firewall which can be seen from inside and primed that. I'm not sure I want to stay with flat black on the glare shield - I may glue down some lighter color fabric later, but this will work for the initial flight configuration.
