Brief Description:  Aft Fuselage

Spent about 3 hours completing the fastener installation on F21. Left the seat belt mount webs and upper cross beams unriveted so I can debur these after the turtledeck formers are installed. Otherwise, installed everything to the print. One thing that is not clear - the fasteners for the upper lateral splice plates are not called out anywhere. Sure these are the same as the lower splice plates as installed on the side panel print, but these get drilled through the turtle deck skin, so I'm going to wait until that is in place to drill these up to size. Also, the upper forward box beam - needed two washers inside on the aft bolts. The print shows one inside and one outside the box beam, but the bolt still turned easily in the hole. A big trick to getting these bolts in place easily is to turn the whole fuselage bottom side up. Insert the bolts from below, drop the inside-the-beam washers on from above. I used a piece of masking tape across a box end wrench to hold the nuts. I then turned the bolts with a ratchet from below. Much easier than trying to put these in with the fuselage upright. I also had to drill out the forward angle on the shear web to access the rivets in the 1x1x.125 upper cross beam (see pictures in 3/28 entry). I removed this angle, installed the rivets, and replaced the angle.

Remade this because I didn't get the rivet lines too straight on the first try.
