Brief Description:  Wing assembly

Worked the W18 cover plates for the aileron bellcranks. Cut the 4" hole in both lower wing skins, marked and drilled the hole pattern in the 5" cover plates, and drilled the pattern in the LH skin. Drilled the 3/4" hole in the lower skins for the tie down bolt. Drilled these to 13/16 to be sure the bolt cleared. Spent most of the time deburring the LH lower aft wing skin, both sides, all holes except those along the main spar. The main spar holes will be drilled to final size when the forward skin is installed. Clecoed the aft ribs to the main and aft spars, clecoed the lower aft skin to the ribs. Turned the wing over and clecoed the forward ribs to the main spar. Next need to debur the upper aft skin and cleco it in place in preparation for installing the forward skin. Also need to get the forward skin bent. The air pressure bend using the shop vac is what I will try, based on the video of the process by Jim Carlson and Jon Gauger. This requires minimal equipment - a sheet of plastic to cover the holes in the skin, and a piece of pipe to act as the leading edge forming tool. Much less work, it seems, than buying $100+ of wood to make a press that depends on high loads and large forces.
