Spent about 1/2 hour attempting to continue riveting the RH main spar. Drilled out 2 rivets, got them re set ok. Put in 2 more rivets, messed up both of these. Need to get an angled rivet set, or maybe try the hammer and big bolt for these few rivets. Problem is the slight overhang of the spar cap at this point puts the rivet set at a slight angle, causing it to jump off the rivet head as soon as the gun starts. Doesn't seem to be a way around it - the set MUST be straight on to the rivet head.
Also need to get a flush rivet set spring (also called the quick release spring) for the rivet gun. The existing spring is only for the regular sets. This hobby is more properly called "tool collection" vice "airplane building".
Spent the remaining time cleaning up, and fitting the two spars together to check the fit at the lower inboard angle row of bolts. Was able to check this on the RH spar because the LH had the bolts in place, but verified it on the LH spar now that the RH fitting is in place. Did a little filing on the LH spar to get good clearance to these bolt heads (only in the .032 and .125 webs).
