Brief Description:  Oil filter spacer

Used a rubber "jar opener" pad on the oil filter, wrapped that with a ratchet strap and finally got enough leverage to get the oil filter off. Not sure what made it so tight as I put it on by hand. Also there were big storms last night - lots of wind. The entire plane was covered with dust. Fortunately it just brushed off, but I had to do that then broom out the hangar. Didn't get to the windshield or canopy though - those are a mess. This hangar is on the last row, exposed to nothing but the airport property and farm fields across the street - as in wide open to the wind and dust. As I left, I stopped by a hangar one row in and spoke with the man there about the dust. He figures the more rows in, the less dust, and though there was dust on the floor, his plane wasn't covered. It was a nice-looking RV3 with the big engine (0360). He said it took 11 years to build and had been flying for 11 years, but he was about ready to just take it home and sell parts off it.
