Brief Description:  Cowling installation

Drilled the remaining pilot holes in the center bottom and side hinges. Cut slots for the side hinge pins. Put cowling in place and marked for the fuel fill door. Removed it and cut the fuel fill opening. Put the cowling back on and marked for the fuel vent. Removed it and cut for the fuel vent. Put the vent tube in place and checked that the cowling clears it. Put the fuel fill door in place. It interferes with the vent. So I marked and trimmed the door to clear the vent. The door would then close, but it wouldn't overlap the small portion of the RH cowling aft of the fuel fill opening. Need the door to overlap that to hold it down. I mocked up an extension to the fill door with masking tape that would both clear the vent and overlap the cowling aft of the fuel fill opening. Traced this onto new metal, cut that out. Drilled the first fuel door from its hinge and marked the new one, drilled and dimpled it. Seems to work well. Trimmed the RH cowling upper fill about 4" back from the forwards end (where it was too high), backed it up with a piece of tape-covered metal, and covered with filled epoxy. Came back later and mocked up the exhaust exit lips with cardboard. Traced that onto metal and cut it out.
