Finished off the pushrod cover. Riveted the support strips to the fuselage center channels. Lined up and drilled the cover for screws. Installed the screws. Reinstalled the seat to check the fit. Also prepared a forward support angle (forward of the cover) to positively hold the seat off the pushrod, but there appears to be clearance so I will leave that off for now. Also replaced the canopy cable with a piece of rope. Low tech, but it works.
