Cut out the .125 pieces I had marked. Sanded and scotch-brite-wheeled the edges. Marked hole patterns on these. Pilot drilled the hole patterns. Marked hole pattern on the 11" long side channels for the .125 splice plates. Drilled the splice plates through the side channels. Final sized these holes. Still need to drill the doubler plates on each end to final size. Found just enough angle stock to make the forward attach angles. The aft end is easy - flat plates from the elevator pushrod support channel.
Like building a little bridge.
If I had a brake this would have 6 fewer parts and 52 fewer rivets...
