Brief Description:  Vertical stab installation

Pulled the vert stab back off. There was slight contact between its spar and the elevator weldment (still), and I don't want any interference that I can detect on the ground to become a stuck control in flight. Ground down the elevators weldment on the same spot as before - I had rubbed my touch up paint off in just the right spot by moving the elevators a couple of times. Retouched the paint. Ground a hair more on the vert stab lower rib attach bracket right in the center where the elevator weldment left some marks. That's really outside the load path on this bracket (bolts are way off to either side). Anyway, this is a tight area where it really pays to put the h-stab to the forwards end of its allowable position on the fuselage (I located mine spot on, but the plans say +/- 1/16" here). I was also told that the configuration of the elevators weldment has changed over time, so this interference may not have appeared on some of the earlier planes. Anyway, it's removal of material on the very back side of the fitting, and there's plenty of weld left to keep things tied together. Took about an hour to get it apart, maybe 1/2 hour of "work" and a good hour to get it back on.
