Trimmed the aft edge of the turtledeck skin one more time. There, got the 3 1/4" from the vertical channel to the aft side of the h-stab aft spar. Got a tiny bit of margin on the 25 degrees up. Yesterday it was right on, now it's definitely there. Clamped the h-stab in place at the forward end. Measured the tip on each side to the cockpit-tailcone joint. Within 1/8" of each other - that's about as square as I can get it. Still looks like it's offset to the right - but looking at it again, it's the forward spar offset a little relative to the skins. Can't do anything about that. Cut the notches at the aft end to allow for drilling (it's on the print). Drilled through all 4 with the 1/4" bit. Installed the bolts. Realized they were tightening down on the threads and not the stack, so removed them and added a 2nd washer. That made it torque down on the stack. Cut the hinge pin for the elevators. Realized I don't have a 3/64" drill bit for the cotter pins. Unclecoed the root ribs and weldment - need to touch up the spot on the weldment that was ground down and ream out the pushrod attachment hole so the bolt is easy to install when it's in place. Also need to drill the root rib to final size, debur and rivet. Just passed 950 hours logged on the project.
