Brief Description:  Primed Vert Stab Understructure

I began to prime the ribs and spars of the vertical stabilizer. Half way through, I ran out of primer. Taking the advice of other builders, I attempted to purchase NAPA 7220. My local store was out, however, they did have DAP 1690. It was labeled a self-etching primer so I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it didn't come in the color the SEM primer came in. DAP was drab green rather the light grey of the SEM. It covered ok but seemed to build up like a sandable primer. I didn't care too much for that. I then purchased a can of Rust-Oleum primer. Same color as the DAP, drab green, and was slightly cheaper. I'm going to continue to use the Rust-Oleum for the time being. As long as it adheres to the metal I'll continue using it. There is something about using Rust-Oleum that just isn't sitting right with me. Maybe because its a plane and not a wheel barrel.

I do need to come up with a better way of painting. I'm going to look around to see what others are doing for a paint booth.
