Brief Description:  C-frame Supports

I attempted to build the Horizontal Stabilizer without the use of C-frame supports. However, I discovered that it was rather awkward trying to support the skin of the stab with one hand; the other working the C-frame.
Therefore, I built these two supports, one for each side. The height of the supports brings sheet metal level with the lower die in the C-frame. I covered the supports with soft indoor/outdoor carpeting (cheap) to protect the parts from scratches and to help the parts slide easily.
It took only a couple of hours to build them. I wish that I had built them prior to starting the empennage. Even though it only took a couple of hours to build, it was two hours I could have been working on dimpling the skins. It seemed to kill the momentum to stop working on the plane and shift gears to work on these supports. If you haven’t received your empennage kit yet and plan on using a C-frame, I would suggest that you build these, or something similar, prior to starting your kit. It would have saved me from a little frustration. All in all, not that big of a deal though.
