I didn't see any direction in the assembly manual for how to hold the gussets and spacer plates in place while assembling the outer skin. The inner skin needs to be in place for this so you can't access from the other side. I thought of tape, but I didn't think that would work, so I drilled and countersunk holes for 1/8" retention rivets while have numerous clecos installed for position. This worked very well and the outer skin test fit installed nicely.
The film is still on the skin because this fit is temporary. I am going to wait untill I assemble and install the rear fuselage before riveting the skin in place. I will also probably apply primer or apply some other type of corrosion protection to the inside mating surfaces prior to final install.
