Brief Description: Adding splice plates for rudder fiberglass tips
Joggled a few aluminum strips and drilled them into the tips. By the way, since the splice strips are really just (almost) non-structural and almost shims...I like to just insert them in the installed location before holes are drilled in them, then mark the hole locations with a sharpie. I then disassemble and drill the holes out of assembly. This is normally not a good practice, but with how thin all the mating aluminum is, I don't want to wallow out the important holes in the tip rib and rudder skin....so any poor fit that results is "adjusted" in the splice skin.
All holes were drilled first, then the strips inserted.
