Fabricated the .063 steel horizontal stabilizer hinge. Formed the U channel by hammering over a form. Then drilled the pivot hole (undersized) on the drill press the exact measurement needed from the bottom of the formed part. Next I roughed the shape of the hinge on the band saw and finished off by using a pivot tool on the sander. The pivot tool is an idea I picked up from Sport Aviation magazine....it works like a charm and makes good quality parts.
