Brief Description:  Roll servo installation

I decided to add the autopilot roll servo installation provisions while I still had easy access. As mentioned in the previous post, I am going to place the servo under the rear seat floorboard on the right-hand side of the cockpit. The output arm of the servo will not clear the floor if the servo is mounted at 90 degrees to the floor, so the mounting flange will need to tilt the servo forward. Image 1 shows the layout where different arm lengths are laid out to obtain a 90-degree input angle from neutral while clearing the floor and rudder cable at the output extremes. Image 2 shows the tab that was welded to the control tube to permit installation of the rod end bearing. The two holes on either side were drilled just in case I needed to modify the geometry (holes would be enlarged to .187 if required.) Finally, image 3 shows the final installation. Input angles at neutral are 90 degrees and the maximum throw is less than 60 degrees so there is no fear of the servo going on center and jeopardizing control authority.
