A new fuel pick-up was fabricated in the right wing by finding a routing that does not rub on the tank stiffeners, while positioning the pick-up end near the tank low point (right next to the drain). Copper wire mesh was then rolled to the proper diameter and soldered together with the copper tube as shown in image 2. This assembly was then installed as shown in image 3. When the access panel is sealed in place, I intend to put a blob of sealant at the end of the copper tube holding the screen in place just above and to the side of the drain hole.
