Brief Description: Aileron detail part fabrication
Bent and welded the hinge and actuator pivot fittings for the ailerons as shown in Image 1. The plans depict 3 forward ribs on the ailerons that support the counterbalance pipe. However, if you look at the top view of the aileron, you will see that the pipe does not run the full length of the aileron, it ends between ribs. The top view shows a 4th rib between the inboard and mid ribs. I created some additional forms and made another rib to better support the end of the pipe. These ribs are shown in Image 2. I then bent up some spars out of .032 2024 on the sheet metal break. These spars and the root and tip ribs are shown in Image 3.
