Brief Description: Seal and rivet forward wing ribs
Before fitting the leading edge skins, I wanted to make sure that the ribs were installed in their final locations. This required doing the riveting. Even though I intend to go over all the rib flanges with brushable sealant (like the spar flange strips) I wanted to install the ribs with sealant just to make sure I got the sealant in all the gaps and cracks. First I did a detail alignment of the ribs and "adjusted" the flanges as required to make sure there was perfect span wise alignment, then I did the sealing and riveting. Image 1 shows the access panel riveting and sealing, image 2 shows a typical rib flange with sealant forced under flange in spacer strips. Finally, image 3 shows the vent fitting installation and sealing at the sing tip. (this vent location is an option to running a tube through the entire tank and seems like a better option.
