Brief Description: Redesign of Elevator Control Linkage
Spent a few days thinking about what to do about the bellcrank length and control horn interference issues. I got in touch with Dick Eaves who said that he redesigned the bellcrank to eliminate an interference that he had with his pushrod. He said Nexus #1 had a 3 inch crank and #2 had a 3.35. Neither of these dimensions match the current plan value of 3.875. In the end, Dick just said build it so that it has clearance to everything. He said he cannot tell the difference in handling qualities between the two planes with respect to elevator control, Looking at the layouts, I built a new bellcrank with 3.45 inch arm. On the horn clearance issue, I increased the distance from pivot to alignment hole from .75 to .875 and decrease the attach bracket radius until I get around .030 clearance.
