Fabrication of the heat shielding began by cuttng out the supplied templates. Poster board was then used and trimming and fitting began. The three transverse panels were made first followed by the side panels and finally the two top panels. Rotorway does it the opposite way. Neil, from the United Kingdom, suggested in his website to start with the transverse panels and then the corners formed by the forward transverse panel and the two side panels can form a known point measured vertically from the airframe above. One now knows where to positon the "box". I did not place any nutplates at this time. When the body panels are ready for final trimming the heat shielding will also require further trimming. Once that is completed I will know exactly where the nutplates will go.
