Brief Description:  Full size Tip Ribs

Spent all day out in the shop. Made a new jig for the Back, Flap and Aileron ribs before doing anything else. I took the full size tip ribs from just being rough smoothed all the way to completion. That's a lot of work!

When it comes off the formblock, it's pretty warped. To show this, I weighted down the nose end and put a ruler under the tip end. It's about an 11 inch difference between the two!

Then it was time for fluting. It was neat to see it go from warped to straight in not much time at all! Using the vise (with wooden jaws) as a third hand worked wonders. Being able to work the fluting pliers with two hands and look quickly down the rib was very nice.

A visit to the LHJ 3000 and some flattening and I was able to set these two monsters aside!
