Well, this is the first time I have touched the project in a while. All I did today was mount my 6 inch scotch-brite wheel on my 8" bench grinder and test it out. I found that in the process of jamming the 6 inch wheel (1/2 hole in the middle) onto the 5/8" spindel of the grinder, I mounted it slightly off center. My next step is to try to round it up with the wheel I took off of the grinder. I'm not exactly sure how well this will work, or how I will go about it, but that will be my small task for tomorrow.
The strike is still going on and I haven't had a real day off since it started (including holidays), but that also means I'm making good money to put towards my plane, or towards a down payment for a house to build it in. The work isn't all bad. I learned how to drill out rivets on an F-16 before I have to do it on my own plane, and have gotten a lot of experience and knowledge about how fighter jets are put together, which may or may not transfer to this RV-7.
I came to the realization that I can't just have this project sitting around just because I'm working a lot. My goal starting today is to work on it 3-4 days per week. It may only be a few minutes, but I need to keep this project in mind. I have also made the decision to try out KitLog Pro. From now on, my entries should be much more detailed. The previous entries were written off of short hand notes and memory.
I think the KitLog software will help me stay focused and organized and track my progress. My biggest obstacle will probably be my mood and energy, but once I start working on it 3-4 days per week, I think it will be easy to maintain when, or maybe I should say "if" the strike ends.
