Brief Description: Install Movable Ballast and Rotor Brace
Another Item I have been procrastinating on is the location of the ballast weight. Bobby and the guys at CHR have been mounting them inside on the instrument pod tubes. I figuered that since I am a big fat guy that I would need it as far out as possible. You can see in Photo 1 that I mounted it on the front of the starboard skid.
Photo 2 shows the newly constructed Rear Rotor Support in place. It uses the same pin that holds the ballast weight.
Good luck getting the holes through the ballast weight aligned. I carefully marked them using the holes already drilled in the hoops. After drilling I was half the pin diameter off. A little judicious grinding on the ballast weight got the pin through. Do not enlarge the holes in the hoops. If you do then the detent ball won't keep the the pin in place.
