Brief Description:  Horizontal Stab and Governor Bracket

Remade the bracket for the governor. I had the brackets for the governor laser cut from stainless and welded them to a piece of stainless I picked up at The Yard. I decided it was to much trounble to "back gas" the piece. Welded them up and sure enough they were badly cracked right through the welded area. I laser cut some more out of low carbon steel and used a piece of 4130 cut in half. Worked fine this time. The stainless tube had much too high of a chormium content.

Made the horizontal stab per the drawings. I started the bend in the leading edge with my brake but only enough to start the shape and define the center. I then put it on the floor and started getting a little more physical with it. I could eventually hold the trailing edges together. I used the twin screw vice shown in the pictures to hold it even tighter. Drilled and clecoed the trailing edges first. Did the skin to the tube next. The end plate will be held on with a couple of nut plates fixed to angles that are riveted to the skin. I will take a picture tomorrow.
