Two days worth of logs. Decided to rivet the front skin with solid rivets. Have a bunch of countersunk 4-4 left over from the two RVs I built so dimpled and back rivited the front skin. It came out so well, I drilled out all the rivets on the root skins and replaced them with solid rivets. Will use solids to mount the skins also, easy with a pneumatic squeezer.
Started on the bellcranks. Got them cleaned up and the bearings riveted and the spacer made. Spacer was wrong in the plans, called for 1.06" wihich is impossible since the brackets are riveted to a 1" tube so the spacer can't be longer than that. Then the top and bottom arms did not allign at all at the aileron pushrod attach. Also the bolt length is wrong based on a trial fit of the crank to the wing. What is wrong is that the bends in the arms are not consistant and need to be flatter to adjust for the .06" that the cranks. Checked the bends with a good tool and they are not consistant. Will rebend so everything works right tomorrow.
