Brief Description:  Fuel tank mount, work on ribs

Put in fuel tank support tube. Plans are somewhat confused on the fuel tank anchorage. I think my plans and parts are caught between two revisions. Went with the parts I had and put tank anchors on.

Time to start the big rib straighten project. From previous experience the first one or two will take a lot of time, the rest will go quickly as you learn about how much each rib needs crimping and where and what it looks like in the process. One problem is the rib flanges are not necessarily at 90 degrees now. Straighten and the check for 90 degrees, fix and then do some more. Got two ribs done.

Tried the first rib out beyond the first compression tube. Discovered it was about 3/8" too short???? Not so, the wingtip tube is deliberately underbent and it has quite a force springing the front and rear spars out. Checked dimensions at the root and the end of the spars where the tip tube attaches. The tubes were sprung. Put a rope around the tubes and twisted until the ribs fit well, then released the rope and the tubes went back a small amount. With all the ribs attached it should be Ok, something to watch.
