Put firewall together and tried to put it on the fues. The pilot holes for the upper engine mounts were almost 1/2 hole off and had to file out the holes so it would fit flush with the firewall.
Drilled all the tab holes. Drilling stainless steel firewall material is about the worst thing you do in aircraft construction. Aside from the hardness of drilling which can be made a little better by using Beolube, the burs left will slice you open quicker than a sharp knife. You can only grind off the burs, I use a Dremel with a stone wheel.
Researching all the holes to be drilled in the firewall now and setting up to do as many as possible in this preliminary fitting so I can do it while access is easy and it is comming off later.
