Brief Description:

Completed the basic 28' X 12' spray booth. Photo 2 is the air in and door end, 1 is the out and 3 is the air supply with the RV-10 behind it. Still needs lights which are due to arrive 12/3.

When to the Chevy deailer and picked out four colors for the paint job. Basic color is a silver metalic pearl, with a metallic red major trim and metallic black and gold as the final two trims. Reality struck when went to the paint store and found the red to be over $600 a quart! The metallics don't bother me since this is my forth aircraft I have painted.

After a lot of research and looking at color books, decided to go with the original silver ($166/qt) and black and gold. Only need 1 pint of the black and gold tricoats, but need at least 2-3 galoons of silver and1- 1.5 gallons of red. Found another red that I thought was good in a paint sample book.

Purchased half the primer, one gallon of clear coat (the best PPG stuff), one quart of red and silver and one pint of the black and gold tricoats. Total bill, about 1500.

Got two pieces of Melamine plywood for free that can be used for testing. Am designing a test scheme to see how it all will work. Stuck a mixing stick in the colors and dried them. Wife thinks the red is wrong, so we will se after the test. Still waiting for some things to arrive to do the test.
