Came out to the hanger and smelled aircraft fuel. Found a puddle under the right wing vent and fuel dripping out of the vent Checked the fuel level and it was well below the vent. . Removed the wing gap cover and disconnected the vent from the tank. Fuel was leaking out of the fitting in the tank. This means that either the tube has a hole in it, or the nut is loose inside the tank. Since the first is almost impossible, called Vans.
Their suport has heard of the issue in quick build -10s. Unfortunately there is no easy access to the nut, just thru the about 1.5" dia fuel level port below the vent. They passed on a VAF thread on the issue and have promised to make up a tool, as shown in the thread and sendi it to me. Will not delay testing.
Removed top cowl and checked for leaks. Found nothing.
Have a couple of day delay due to some not aircraft issues.
