Continued on the airbox. Glued in foam in the front of the bottom cowl, installed it and shaped the inside of the inlet ramp. Removed and prepared fiberglass to go on the inside. Vans says to install a balloon to hold the glass agains the foam. When I tried the taper of the inlet ramp caused the balloon to displace the fiberglass and the whole mess slid into the cowl.
Finally gave up and just made sure it was completely pressed agains the foam and fit around the nose.
The replacement baffle parts arrived from Vans this morining. Can go back to that after some more work on the inlet ramp. It will most likely need some reinforcing glass, my -6A did and the airbox design has not changed since 1998.
