Brief Description:  Vertical Stab Cover

Holiday weekend, and I had to bail on family trip due to a headcold that has led to some vertigo. Taking advantage of the down-time to attack covering of the Vertical Stabilizer.

An immediate mystery, in that the covering DVD shows doing this with the rudder detached. The rudder is essentially held in place between two flanges of the Horiz Stab. But I needed to drill through a few rivets just to get the rudder off for covering, so if I re-rivet and cover, I don't know how I would ever get the rudder on again! Factory was stumped on this one, as well, so I decided to re-attach the rudder and just move forward with the Vert Stab covering process around the rudder. Worked reasonably well. We'll see if I have any trouble getting the iron in there when I move on to the shrinking process, tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Vert Stab also requires an inspection hole adjacent to the pulley that guides the upper elevator cable. Without that hole, this important part would be covered by the fabric and therefore uninspectable. Instructions for the inspection hole were excellent, and it came together pretty smoothly.
