Finished Covering Test. REALLY glad I invested the time and money to do this. Important to gain some familiarity with the materials and process.
Started the day by watching the Horiz Stab segment of the DVD, again, Love those mullets... The stabs worked even more smoothly than the cover test. Hoping that is due to improvement in my skills, because I'm still not sure I've got it all figured out. Reached out to my local EAA Tech Counselor to try to set up a quick inspection of work to date.
The covering materals are awesome. The 3M contact cement is incredibly effective, as long as you give it 15-20 mins to get tacky after application and before covering. I took the advice from the DVD and worked both stabs at once, alternating drying times. By the end of the session, I have both with initial covering. Need to give them some time to thoroughly dry, and then will move into the shrinking phase. Figure another hour or two, plus the drying time on the seam tapes, and they will be done. GOOD FUN.
