Brief Description:  Unboxing

With the workshop complete, I was finally able to begin the unboxing process. Exciting - and more than a litttle bit intimidating. The care and organization with whihc the boxes had been packed was nothing short of ASTOUNDING. Individual fasteners, fittings, and sub-assemblies, organized in heat-shrunk poly bags, and marked according to page/step in the assembly manual. As a guy who had spent the past four years cutting and shaping raw stock into fittings based on the most rudimentary blueprints on my Pup project, I was blown-away.

Each box was carefully unpacked, and the contents logged for future reference. I had also coded the storage areas in the shop, so that the log could reflect where each was stored. Not sure how useful this will be, but wanted to be thorough.

I actually conned my eleven-year-old into coming back out to the shop with me later in the weekend so we could collate all of the poly bags to be stored in individual bins in step order. That shole process took about a half-hour.

Now, the Step 1 bags are sitting on the bench, awaiting my return next weekend to officially kick the project into gear.
