First job is to layout the rear spar reinforcement bars inside the spar channels (pic 1).
Pic 2 shows HS609PP as delivered and after removal of the milling marks. This took some time as my new bench grinder (fitted with a Scotchbrite wheel) wasn't man enough for the job (new one purchased yesterday) and so this took a lot longer than expected. The deeper milling marks were lightly runover with a smooth file and emery before finishing on the Scotchbrite wheel. Very pleased with the result though, pic 3.
I wanted to get the reinforcement bars as near to perfect as possible to eliminate and potential stress raisers.
