Vic and Ellen are having the two of us and Jim Ebell over for dinner, so I told Char we were taking the seaplane. She was sl reluctant at first, but she quickly warmed to the idea. We piled into the Searey, wine, bread and chocolate and way we went. We pulled up in the front yard..much to the chagrin of Vic I'm sure! We giggled about it like hyenas.
On the way home I tried to show off to Char by getting the tail off the ground...never mind that the CG was much further forward with two of us in the plane. Over she went onto her nose. There was a big 'splash' that I assumed to be water, but Char rapidly ID'd as fuel. I think the fuel drain on the bottom of the tank was open a bit too much and dang if that didn't make a mess. I drained the fuse when we got home, but it reinforced that I need to carry the fire extinguisher with me always. Luckily there was no fuel the next morning, but I did notice that it damaged the truck bed liner. I may have to respray some areas.
