Brief Description:  Sensors, run tests

Spent an amazing amount of time on the plane today that I thought was going to be laregely frustrating and 'wasted' but it ended up turning out well.

I started off this morning by rigging the throttles, reattaching the armrest, cleaning out the fuse, etc.

I went on to run wires for all the engine sensors with the exception of one of the EGTs. I ran out of wire today and will have to order more. I talked with Norm and he suggested I call Grand Rapids to get some answers to various questions. The gal there, Sandy, was very helpful but she essentially told me that the CHT probes that I have won't work and that I need to use the ring terminals that came with the EIS. novel thought...except they use two wire instead of just one...hence the running out of wire gig.

The EIS is in place. but there is still lots of tweaking to do there. I think the CHTs are reading correctly right now, but no promises. The oil temp has a reading that makes sense, but I need to go through and calibrate teh EIS. The oil pressure, EGTs, and tach are not working currently. Additionally I haven't run the wire for the coolant temp...out of wire (see a trend here?).

Vic, Jim and I spent a lot of time trying to get the radiator filled with fluid. At first fluid came pouring out of a hole that is molded into the radiator...I don't get that. We plugged it, then fluid came pouring out of the same hole, but in the other end. We plugged that. Then fluid came pouring out of the first hole becuase our plug didn't hold. Long story short, Jim devised a method of plugging it that I think will work out well.

I calibrated the fuel tank today. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it will work from a TLAR perspective. I raised and lowered the tail to get both in-flight and ground calibrations. The VDO fuel gauge is not yet working...back to the drawing board.

Jim suggested that we run it...so we did. To do so I had to prime the fuel pumps. I essentially pressurized the fuel tank with the compressor and that seemed to d
