Brief Description:  It Runs!!!!

Like the description says, the motor now runs.

Norm and I worked on getting the oil through the system for quite a while yesterday. We put low pressure on the oil return line side of the tank. The oil was cool and resultingly sluggish, but we finally got it around the motor. Thankfully Norm was paying attention and noticed oil streaming everywhere. No big surprise, there is a hole in the oil cooler. I was plannign on replacing it prior to flight, but now I'll have to do it prior to extended taxi testing. I bypassed the cooler entirely, but that obviously won't last long.

I spent a could of hours running the 'choke' cables as well. They are now set up to be bolted to the overhead tube.

I spent a while trying to figure out how to run the throttle cables. Basically I don't have enough cable to run up the side of the turtledeck. I don't know what the factory does, but essentially they give you just enough cable to run vertical up behind your back and then straight to the engine and that's it! I don't really want to have those cables showing, and I don't want to drill holes and try to feed those dang things up the tubes. Basically I decided to up in an overhead throttle. It will add a bit of work, but boy will it look nice!!

I also spent some time running wires for the extra CHT. I will run EGT and coolant temp wires tomorrow. I know this is all overkill/over-monitoring, but I have the sensors, and the EIS will monitor them all so why wouldn't I?
