Brief Description:  Rear windows and fuel filler

Marked the cut locations for the rear windows today. Sounds simple, but was a bit involved. I had to get the windows out of the trailer, and then mark around them once I'd decided how I wanted them installed. The very act of deciding how I wanted them installed was a huge to-do. Bear and I went back and forth, back and forth. The way they looked best would not have worked based on the compound curves in that area of the plane. I ended up going with a orientation that gives a 'bubble' appearance to the whole cockpit area. I described it as the Jetson look. It seems like everyone has a different way of doing it...man I love homebuilding.

I also cut the holes for the filler cap and the tank vent. That was a nerve-wracking experience. You never want to make cuts you can't take back. After Bear and I went back and forth a few times, I decided to mount it high and aft. That will take up very little baggage-compartment, but will allow a continuous descent into the tank and still allow me to use a 5 gallon container to fill the plane. Where I first had it would have been a total disaster after Bear pointed out where the wing sits. Phew, glad he brought that up...I never would have been able to get a five gallon container in there!
