Had to take the previous firewall extension apart since I hadn't held the width very accurately... made it over which went okay, then when I was tacking it to the airframe I had a couple of burn-throughs too large for TIG to bridge -- oh well, I needed some light corner gussets any way and will use them for fillers/supports...
At the lower speeds I'll fly as an LSA bird, the extra windshield lay-back is mostly for esthetics, but I have to build a windshield/skylight frame anyway, so figured it didn't take any more that way than any other way -- other than adding some height to the firewall -- saw where a W8 rebuilder had done that... About the only big screw up is I needed a third hand at one point and absentmindedly thought to hold a still flamin' hot filler rod in my teeth -- my mouth isn't going to like me much for a few days...

Center member is straight the last few inches for conical section
