I received my SL-30 nav/com radio in the mail which completes the center stack, so i fitted it up to the panel. I also scaled and printed two Garmin G3X images and placed them in their respective places on the panel. Lookin pretty sweet.
I would really have liked to omit the Aera 500 (which I had already) and go with an approch certified GPS, (GNS430 or GTN 650). But, have to keep things in check with the mission in mind. I'll be able to fly ILS, Localizer and VOR approaches with what i have here. Its the GPS approaches I will be lacking. But the reality is; i'll never intentionally take this bird into IMC in the first place. So for now the extra $4k is not necessary. (nor is the second G3X for that matter)
