Quite some time ago I installed an adapter plate to my fiberglass rudder bottom to accept the tail strobe. I finally got around to installing the strobe light. The tricky part was to get a ground wire connector sandwhiched between the frame of the light and the connector plate. I had to notch the edge of the adapter plate with a dremel reamer. I removed the anodized finish from the light housing where the ground connecor is as well as removed the primer from the adapter plate and where i mounted the ground screw to the rudder. I verified continuity with the multimeter at various locations and temporarily secured the rudder bottom back to the rudder.
