Brief Description:  Z-Bracket Prep & Study

Today I spent 90 percent of my time studying the wing tank plans, the Van's build manual, the VAF website, and other builder's Kitlog website as it pertains to preping the T-712 Fuel Tank Attach Brackets (Z-Brackets), etc. Several builders refer to "The Checkoway Method" for z-bracket prep which seems the best way to prep/mount the brackets. I found most of this info on the VAF website. This is the method I will use. I also used the last 30 minutes of my time finishing off the edges of the 14 z-brackets on the scotchbrite wheel. Tomorrow I will measure and drill the brackets.
