Brief Description: Riveted Forks & Reinforcement Plates To Rear Wing
Today I completed the "Assembling The Rear Spar" section of the plans. I started off by clecoing all the forks and reinforcement plates together to check for fit....all good. I then studied plans and put clecos in the holes NOT to be riveted. I double checked that I had the proper orientation in accordance with the plans. I identified the proper universal 470 rivets to be used...2 different ones...and checked rivet holes for fit. Some rivets would not fit in match drilled holes due to the dried primer. Had to redrill most holes to get rid of primer. Rivets fit perfectly afterwards. placed rivets in all required holes and used air rivit squeezer to install rivets. Worked good. Tomorrow I will start on next section of the plans which is to start preparing the wing ribs.
