Brief Description: Parts cleaning and preservation until actual assem
After a lot of delays, and preparing to move from the shop in Cove City; I commenced detailed cleaning and preserving of various engine parts. A lot of the polishing and the preservative oiling of parts was done in the evenings as I watched TV. The first batch was cleaning preservative off of new surplus pistons and rings, and that was a time consuming effort. When this was finally done, I wiped down pistons and new piston/wrist pins, along with new rings and pin caps and individually bagged them up. The image below is a typical set.
